Barb Nepinak, Elder Protocol and Knowledge Keeping

Barbara Nepinak, a member of Pine Creek First Nation is retired after serving 35 years of federal public service.  Barbara is active in the Urban and surrounding areas serving on Advisory Councils and Boards as Elder and Cultural Advisor.

Presently, she serves on the Standing Indigenous Advisory Council to the Canadian Human Rights Museum, Board member of The Forks Foundation Board and National Board member for the Cultural Human Resources Council in Ottawa as well as providing Elder teachings in the 7 Oaks School Division. Barbara has also received recognition awards such as the Recipient of the Keeping the Fires Burning through Ka Ni Kanichihk, which is an acknowledgement of being a Traditional Knowledge and Wisdom Keeper. 

 

PJ Jordan, Videography

PJ Jordan is a videographer, photographer, editor, educator and One Trunk Production’s Technical Digital Manager. He has filmed, edited and released multiple music videos, short films, documentaries, interviews, TV and web series, promotional trailers and highlight reels. Some of PJ’s clients include the Forks, Holiday Alley Selkirk, Synonym Art Consultation, Walk&Talk Theatre Company, Churchill Health Centre, Birch Bark Productions and musicians such as Slow Leaves, Red Moon Road and Boy Golden. PJ has spent many years teaching at IRCOM (Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization of Manitoba) and overseas.

Amelia Laidlaw, Business Consulting

Amelia Laidlaw is an experienced entrepreneur, business strategist, project manager, and the founder of Tandem Collaborative. She works alongside her clients to prioritize goals for growth, define their brands, and identify solutions so they can grow their business from a place of strength. Amelia approaches business and brand strategy through uncovering and leveraging each business's authentic purpose to build meaningful and lasting relationships with their customers.

Joseph Pilapil, Sign Painter & Graphic Design

Joseph Pilapil is a sign painter, designer, and artist. Owner of The Travelling Sign Painters, he creates hand painted signs for all situations in Winnipeg. Joseph has worked on many projects for Fete Jockey that required some fun lettering and graphic design.

Daniel Waycik, Security Advisor & Community Engagement

Daniel Waycik (one/their) brings over a decade of experience in enhancing community safety and wellbeing through collaborative projects. Specializing in operational development and stakeholder engagement, one adeptly bridges the needs of diverse organizations, fostering secure and thriving environments. Outside of work, Daniel finds joy and fulfillment in tinkering, hiking, and cycling. Dan is a strong advocate for creating systems that maximize human fulfillment and believes in equitable access to life's fullness for all.

 

Tyler Sneesby, Accessibility and Music Programming

2024 marks 33 years since Tyler Sneesby AKA DJ Hunnicutt has been making and performing music. He has recorded on dozens of albums including most of the releases from Peanuts & Corn Records, the acclaimed independent hip-hop label he cofounded in 1994.  Hunnicutt has played clubs as far away as New York City, Oslo, Bogota and Berlin, and has shared the stage with the likes of Feist, James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) as well as hip-hop legends DJ Jazzy Jeff and Biz Markie. Since losing the majority of his sight in 2019, Sneesby has been active in the disability rights community, with a particular focus on music venue/events accessibly. 

Sean Guezen, Videography

Sean Guezen is a freelance shooter and editor specializing in an artistic & documentary-style approach to promotional video production, live music capture, and event videography. Visually minded and music-obsessed, Sean is always looking for fun new clients and interesting passion projects to take on.

MJ Dandeneau, Indigenous Performance Consultant

MJ DANDENEAU is a French Métis/Anishinaabe woman from the Red River Nation Treaty #1. Her mother’s family comes from the Red River Valley in southern Manitoba and her father’s family comes from Penetanguishene, Treaty 61. She is an accomplished director, mentor and producer. For the past 20 years, MJ has worked as a music producer and artistic director with Indigenous communities, organizations, and remote schools across Canada and the territories, offering engagement, artistic direction services and outreach services along with youth mentoring programs. MJ’s mission is not only to be working to strengthen Indigenous communities but more importantly providing mentorship, sharing her knowledge, and instilling the values of patience, respect, integrity, and kindness in youth to develop future community leaders.

Brittany Lagasse, Stage Manager & Kilter x FJ Weddings Coordinator

Brittany helps our events run on time and when it comes to our weddings she makes sure the planning process is easeful and fun, and that the wedding is luxuriously local and 100% reflective of the couple tying the knot! Brittany loves to act, sing, dance and play drums- check out her new band with her husband Mario- The Bits. 

Gwendolyn Collins, Stage Management & Onsite Coordination

Gwendolyn is a theatre and film actor, producer and writer living and working on Treaty 1 Territory in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is the Co-Artistic Producer of One Trunk Theatre. She has performed in theatre shows for Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Prairie Theatre Exchange, Winnipeg Jewish Theatre and Manitoba Theatre for Young People. She has worked with Fete Jockey for Zoo Lights and July 1st celebrations at the Forks.

Chris Pancoe, Fabricator

Chris Pancoe is a multimedia artist, with a penchant for working with clay, wood, snow and ice. Because of his diverse art background and eclectic skill set, he is often contracted to fabricate and/or design various projects that your average builder would be afraid to take on. After a 10+ year tenure at The University of Manitoba as the Sculpture and Ceramic Technician, Chris is now the Artistic Director and Co-owner of Anvil Tree, Winnipeg’s newest design, build and art fabrication company. When he’s not at work, he can be found in his studio feeding Gronk his woodstove, fixing broken items, making art and drinking coffee or a malt beverage out of a handmade mug.

Tanner Manson, Stage Management & Onsite Coordination

Tanner Manson is a queer artist & producer with a passion for community-centric work. He loves to get his steps in and loves to talk on walkie-talkies which are great assets to his work as an Onsite Coordinator and he’s has worked extensively both on and off all sorts of stages, which makes him a skillful Stage Manager! When he’s not managing stages or coordinating sites, he works full time in theatre & dance as a playwright / performer / director / administrator.

Kara Joseph, Costume Designer

Kara Joseph (she/her) is a theatre performer and creator based in Winnipeg. For over 20 years, Kara has used her skills in sewing and craft to create clothing, props, toys and costumes for children and adults (and sheep)! Kara is passionate about creation and enjoys making imaginative projects and ideas a reality.
