JD AND THE SUNSHINE BAND

Enjoy a backyard concert from Winnipeg’s JD and the Sunshine Band - a musical collaboration between musicians & street-involved individuals singing the chorus of the streets of Winnipeg.  

What started in 2013 as a project to promote literacy and social inclusion has evolved into a lasting vessel for creativity and fun.  The band has released 2 albums and toured extensively, from the humblest of community events to the big stage.  With upwards of 12 members at any given time, the band puts the "try" in country, charming young and old  out of their strollers and walkers to shake a leg and cut a rug.
